The AEE
Mid-Atlantic Conference was very successful!
By Al
Rock, Shermans Dale, PA
For the 21st year the Mid-Atlantic
Region came together for its annual conference. We met on the shores of the
Chesapeake Bay for the second year in a row. Our host was NorthBay in North
East, Maryland and with the temperatures in the 70s to near 80, sunshine, the
waterfront, dock, sand beach and eco-friendly building designs, we felt as if we
were in the Caribbean instead of the Mid-Atlantic. The conference brought in
over 100 folks, not just from the region, but we also had visitors from the
states of New York, Ohio, Colorado, Connecticut and California.

The AEE
Northwest Regional Conference - A Success!

By Katie
Miesle, Northwest Region Council, Oregon
Our 2010 Northwest
Regional Conference was a huge success! Approximately 125 attendees came
together to share their knowledge, skills, and energy as we embarked on a "New
Journey." Attendees connected in new ways - "How do you feel about pinball
machines?" and "Look out for the trolls & gnomes!" A playnote by Synergo
included big cardboard box fun. There were 30 workshops, a Keynote by Keith
Russell on organizational accountability and research-based practices, and a
closing activity to remember with everyone doing the Hula in unison. Workshop
topics included risk management, organic farming, mindfulness, and more; evening
entertainment by Bentgrass and Katura Marimba was great; and members of the
Nooksack Nation led the closing. As always, the game of broomball was a big
draw- Canada took it again, though the US had a strong showing. Hope to see you
next year in Portland and across the border in 2012!
