Tips for Conference Attendees
(It's not too late to register!)

The International Conference will be here soon! Get ready for your trip to Jacksonville with tips and advice from our Director of Conferences & Events, Evan Narotsky. You can also preview the Conference Program online and plan your schedule.
  • TRANSPORTATION & LODGING: We have made special arrangements with GO Shuttle to provide transportation to and from the airport to the Omni Hotel for $10 each way. There must be 2 or more AEE attendees on the shuttle and you must have a copy of this letter to get this rate. If you are booked at the Omni, be sure to sign up for their loyalty program to receive complimentary wi-fi and a morning beverage!
  • PRECONFERENCES: There is still space available in many of the preconferences. All preconferences will either take place at, or will leave from the Omni Hotel.
  • DOCUMENTARY FILM SCREENING: On Wednesday evening we will screen the documentary August to June: Bringing Life to School. The film will show at 8:00 p.m. and will be followed by an opportunity to dialogue with the teacher who is featured in the film. This is a free and open event, so invite your local friends and family to join you.
  • CELEBRATION DINNER AND COMMUNITY LUNCHES: If you haven't already purchased your tickets, it is not too late. Tickets for the Dinner are $45 and for the Two Lunches (Fri & Sat) are $55. Tickets can be purchased online and may be available in limited quantities at the event.
  • TRAVELING WORKSHOPS: We offer traveling workshops on Thursday afternoon. Options will include a visit to the Museum of Science & History, hands-on activities in the marsh and wetlands at Guana Estuarine and a kayak tour of downtown Jacksonville. Some of the workshops have an additional charge and some of the trips may include getting wet, so plan ahead. Check at the registration desk for a list of available workshops and information on signing up.
  • EVENING EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT: Thursday evening will feature a 'not to be missed'  full community Playnote with Chris Ortiz of High 5 Adventures. Friday is the Awards Dessert Reception followed by entertainment at the nearby Jacksonville Landing and Saturday we will have complimentary beer and wine before the live auction, followed by live music by Jacksonville's Saltwater Grass.
  • NEED A ROOMMATE, A RIDE, OR WANT TO CONNECT WITH OTHERS BEFORE THE CONFERENCE? We encourage all attendees to connect with the AEE community and to follow conference news and updates on Facebook and Twitter. Use #AEEIntlConf to participate in the Twitter conversation.
