Greetings,
We wanted to take this opportunity before Labor Day to tell you a quick story.
AEE member Andrew Bobilya recently did a great thing for the organization and for the International Conference that is coming up in November. Andrew is the co-chair of the Outdoor Education Department at Montreat College in North Carolina. As a long-time AEE member, he was considering what he could do to help AEE be successful and also how he could support the students and staff in his program using his membership.
He did several things that were exceptional. First, he added students who wanted to come to the International Conference to the Montreat membership. He got them signed up to be AEE “Sub-members” at Montreat for a fee of only $15 each. Now, they’re AEE members and, because of their membership, they will attend the AEE Conference at the member rate.
Next, he signed up to promote Montreat College and the Outdoor Education Department at the conference through a booth in the exhibition hall. He also purchased an ad in the conference program to extend the reach of his promotion.
We’d like to thank Andrew and Montreat College for their incredible support of AEE and the 39th Annual International Conference in Jacksonville. Here’s what you can do to support the work of AEE and find value in AEE membership:
· Sign up to become an AEE member and get an extra month of membership free (renewals also get a free month)!
· Register for the International Conference by September 9th (only 7 days away!!!) to get the early-bird rate
· Promote your organization with a booth in the exhibition hall (comes with two complimentary conference registrations)
· Purchase an ad in the conference program to promote AEE and to promote your organization, business, or non-profit
· Supply auction items for the silent and live auctions at the conference by contacting membership@aee.org
· Other options to support the conference are available, too – see the conference pages
There’s only a week left to register at the early-bird rate so sign up today! And make sure you’re a member to get the most savings. Remember that anyone from your organization who gets the member rate must be associated with your primary membership through your online account in the “My Subprofiles” section. Have a great and safe labor day weekend, and again, thank you to Andrew Bobilya for his exceptional support of the experiential education community.
