Wilderness Risk Managers Committee
The Wilderness Risk Managers Committee is a consortium of outdoor schools, guide services, organizations, and land managers, who are working toward better clarification, understanding, and management of risks in the wilderness.
AEE is committed to providing the best and most current information about risk management to our members and the public. In conjunction with the Wilderness Risk Managers Committee, AEE publishes the Adventure Program Risk Management Report periodically.
The goals of the report are:
- To provide a tool to educate interested parties about the management of risks associated with adventure education activities.
- To provide a significant and comprehensive incident database for statistical analysis, and to provide a reliable information source for the field of adventure programming.
- To provide a central reporting forum for incidents in adventure programming.
- To enhance the collective judgment of the field of adventure education by examining trends and sharing information.
