NEW RELEASE!
In Childhood and Nature, noted educator David Sobel makes the case that meaningful connections with the natural world begin in our own backyards and communities.
Based on his observations of recurrent play themes around the world, Sobel describes seven design principles that can guide teachers in structuring learning experiences for children, and he offers samples of place-based education projects that foster children's love of nature and integrate language arts, math, science and social studies with essential problem-solving and social skills that enable students to care for their communities and environment.
