2022 Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group Pre-Conference Series

November 8-9, 2022

Thank you in advance for your interest in the 2022 TAPG Extended Education Series, taking place on Tuesday November 8th, 2022 through Wednesday November 9th, 2022, in conjunction with the AEE International Conference in Black Mountain, North Carolina (November 10-13). We are excited to announce that the 2022 theme is “The Adventure of Belonging: (Re)-Imagining Our Approaches for a Socially Just and Collective Community."

Our focus this year is to offer workshops which will support our JEDI (justice, equity, diversity & inclusion) values and assist you in attaining the Certified Clinical Adventure Therapist (CCAT) credentials. We are excited and hopeful to have a wide array of subject areas for our Extended Education Series and strongly encourage presenters to include hands-on opportunities for participants to learn and apply experiential techniques based on your workshop content.

TAPG Mission

The Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group is committed to the development and promotion of adventure-based programming and the principles of experiential education in therapeutic settings. We are also committed to the professional development of this community and the profession as a whole.

TAPG Statement of Purpose

Therapeutic Adventure is the professional group for those AEE members who work within the fields of health, mental health, corrections, education, and other human service fields. Our primary purpose is to facilitate networking for professionals within our various fields and share information, techniques, and concerns regarding the therapeutic use of adventure. We define therapeutic as moving toward healthy change with intentional interventions. We represent the interests of this community to the Board and larger professional communities through workshops, conference and pre-conference activities, and best practices development.
