Presenter: Mary Sue McCarthy
1 hr Conceptual Knowledge in AT/TA
1 hr Trauma Informed Practices in AT/TA
This program explores the healing power of nature through somatic awareness, emphasizing trauma recovery from the bottom up. Participants will learn how three somatic modalities synchronize with nature-based approaches to foster somatic healing, nervous system regulation, and emotional resilience. With a focus on the triune brain's functions and the significance of bottom-up processing, this experiential training emphasizes why more than cognitive strategies alone may be needed for processing overwhelming relational experiences.
About the Series: The Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group developed the annual webinar series to provide more opportunities for individuals interested in receiving additional training and education specific to working in adventure therapy and therapeutic adventure settings in a more accessible format. Each of these webinars offer two hours of training in the various core competencies required for certification as a Certified Clinical Adventure Therapist or a Certified Therapeutic Adventure Specialist.
