AEE Accreditation and Certification Director To Retire
Dear AEE Community,
It is with deep gratitude — and a mix of celebration and bittersweet emotion — that I share the news that Steve Pace, Accreditation and Certification Director will be retiring in November after ten years of extraordinary service in the position.
For over a decade, his leadership, integrity, and commitment to quality have strengthened AEE’s Accreditation and Certification programs in lasting ways. He has supported countless programs, practitioners, and volunteers, ensuring that our standards remain rigorous and relevant. His work has helped elevate safety, professionalism, and trust across the experiential education field. Simply put, AEE is stronger because of him.
While we will certainly miss his wisdom, institutional knowledge, and smile, we are also excited for him as he steps into a well-earned retirement and look forward to him volunteering with AEE again (Steve was previously the Board of Directors President and served on the Accreditation Council).
As we begin the search for our next Accreditation and Certification Director, we ask for your support. This role is vital to advancing our mission and ensuring equitable access to high-quality accreditation and certification pathways. Please help us spread the word by sharing the job posting within your networks. We are seeking a person who is visionary, collaborative, and deeply committed to the values that define our community.
Thank you for joining me in celebrating Steve’s remarkable contributions (we will be having a celebration at this year’s International Conference) — and for helping us steward this important transition with the same care and excellence he has modeled for us all.
With appreciation,
Sherry Bagley
