2026 Heartland Regional Conference!

Dates: March 6-8, 2026

Location: Camp Henry, Newaygo, MI

From adventure therapy to classroom educators, we as experiential educators have stories, innovations and methods to share. Join us at beautiful Camp Henry to share your story!

This year's Keynote Speaker will be Lynn LaPointe, Wicahpi Sapa. Lynn is Sicangu Lakota Oyate and an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. He has worked in the fields of Service-Learning and Experiential Education for over 25 years incorporating traditional Lakota thought and philosophy within the framework of Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being. These traditional teachings have been the basis of his Experiential, Service and Adventure based programming and presentations. Lynn currently serves as Wawo'kiye Ita'can (Servant Leader) for the Indigenous Education Initiative of the Michigan Department of Education. He has recently accepted an offer to serve a second, 3 year term on the Board of Directors for the Voyageur Outward Bound School in Mni'sota.

Let's connect, learn and grow together. The Regional AEE Conferences bring together the experiential education community in a particular geographic area – members and non-members – to work, talk, network, play, and learn together in an educational (and fun!) environment.
