Description:

1 in 44. Chances are you already have seen participants on the autism spectrum whether you know it or not. What's even more important is that the strategies that welcome this population enrich the experience of all participants - because the Autism experience is not separate from the Human experience. Join us to look at specific behaviors, ideas, and strategies from the lenses of facilitator and neurodivergent participant—and how respecting the natural drive for sensory equilibrium optimizes the function of the body, mind, and spirit. We'd love to share the insights of our lived experience to improve learning environments everywhere.

Participants will identify the influences and implications of several labels and conditions of neurodiversity, develop empathy for how sensory processing drives behavior, and build a toolbox to better manage learners/ participants as well as support self-advocacy. With a full-day format, we look forward to the opportunity to offer insights and advice to the specific concerns of participants and more depth to the relationship between sensory processing & learning.
